Et Colégram: where waste, companies, creators and citizens meet

Located in Bourgoin-Jailleu (Isère), the association "Et Colégram" is a pioneering social economy organization. It was created in 1993 by people wanting to "take a new look at the waste produced by our companies" combining "environmental awareness and artistic expression, the world of industry and creators, both children and adults"

Building on three Rs as pillars of its business (Recover - Recreate - Recycle), the association concentrates its efforts primarily on meeting, exchanging ideas and creating links between people who benefit from its work, either within its own premises or outside, with training courses, workshops, exhibitions and "Recovery Art" performances.

Et Colégram employs a staff of seven who are assisted by thirty volunteers. Waste materials are collected from 300 Rhône-Alpes companies.

By making 600 m3 of salvaged materials a year available to its 3,000 members, the association has a new kind of Aladdin's cave in its premises that offers the opportunity for creative individuals and professionals (from architects to child-minders) to source "treasure-waste" with which they can produce original creations.

Et Colégram's increasing activity is reaching out to all audiences. Their catalogue has fifteen different activities for children from the age of one right up to teenagers, adults, professionals working with children, etc. For Et Colégram, seeing waste as new raw material serves creative activities and social ties through a sensitive, playful approach, making people central to the activity.
