Editorial of the 9th Eclaira Newsletter - The viability of circular economy projects: a question of innovation

Directed by CIRIDD with support from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, ECLAIRA's ninth bulletin is entitled “The viability of circular economy projects: a question of innovation”

EDITORIAL

A new economy based on resilient and cooperative business models is possible. There is evidence of this in the light of many initiatives in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, visionary and immediately viable. They are creating a knock-on effect, preparing the economic development of areas with higher environmental and social added values.

They demonstrate that entrepreneurs are committed to innovative, sustainable and resource-saving ways of development. These “circular solution” purveyors are developing strong competitive advantages: efficient, long-lasting products, avoidance of consumed materials, and a pro-active approach to changing user behaviour. Understanding, explaining in order to convince, building and sharing these solutions. Admittedly, the professionalisation of managers and operators is a necessary step, through conventional channels, but also through learning experiences and the strength of collective involvement in projects.

You that are involved in the ECLAIRA network are showing that all sectors of activity and forms of entrepreneurship are concerned, from the SCE to industry, (re)manufacturing, the collaborative economy, digital and construction. You are inventing new ways of working, of designing, analysing and assessing, transforming, serving and marketing “viable circular economy solutions”.

In this new year, all of us at CIRIDD wish you health and prosperity.

You can already make a note of the date of March 20th in your diaries. Michelin will be hosting the next meeting of the ECLAIRA Network at its Ladoux Technology Centre near Clermont-Ferrand.
